Description of the possible adverse effects of the pesticides as per the Material Safety Data Sheets for the pesticides to be used, if available: (Orthene) ACEPHATE is a Cholinesterase Inhibitor. Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin. Avoid inhaling dust. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not contaminate feed or foodstuffs.(ExiteR) Symptoms of Acute Exposure: Ingestion: May cause gastrointestinal effects, such as nausea, cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. Ingestion of large quantities can result in nervous system effects, such as dizziness, loss of coordination, tremors, and loss of consciousness. Symptoms usually regress with no long lasting effects. At high oral doses, the type of solvent in this product has caused irreversible damage to the liver and kidney (male only) in rats. These effects are not relevant to humans at occupational levels of exposure. Eyes: May cause temporary eye irritation. Skin: May be irritating to skin. Repeated contact may cause dermatitis. Inhalation: May cause nasal and respiratory irritation at high concentrations. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: None known. . (Tempo Ultra SC) Moderate eye irritation. do not get in eyes. Skin May cause transient skin redness. May cause skin irritation. May cause a transient, localized paresthesia, characterized by tingling, burning or numbness sensation in some individuals. Harmful if absorbed through skin. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Ingestion Harmful if swallowed. Do not take internally. Inhalation May cause irritation of the mucous membranes. Avoid breathing dust or spray mist. Harmful if inhaled. (Cy-Kick) Primary routes of exposure: Routes of entry for solids and liquids include eye and skin contact, ingestion and inhalation. Routes of entry for gases include inhalation and eye contact. Skin contact may be a route of entry for liquefied gases. Acute toxicity: Relatively nontoxic after single ingestion. Relatively nontoxic after short-term skin contact. Irritation / corrosion: May cause slight but temporary irritation to the eyes. May cause moderate irritation to the skin.(Pyrocide 100) EYES: May cause temporary irritation, tearing, and blurred vision. SKIN: Can cause skin irritation. Can cause a burning or prickling sensation on more sensitive areas (face, eyes, mouth). Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. SKIN ABSORPTION: Harmful if absorbed through the skin. INGESTION: May be harmful if swallowed. Small amounts of this product aspirated into the respiratory system during ingestion or vomiting may cause mild to severe lung injury. INHALATION: Excessive inhalation of mists can cause nasal and respiratory irritation. (Tempo Ultra SC) CAUTION Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through skin.  Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Avoid breathing spray mist.  Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking or using tobacco. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. (PI Contact) Primary routes of exposure: Routes of entry for solids and liquids include eye and skin contact, ingestion and inhalation.  Routes of entry for gases include inhalation and eye contact. Skin contact may be a route of entry for liquefied gases. Acute toxicity: Relatively nontoxic after single ingestion. Slightly toxic after short-term skin contact. Relatively nontoxic after short-term inhalation. Irritation / corrosion: May cause slight irritation to the eyes. May cause slight irritation to the skin. Sensitization: Skin sensitizing effects were not observed in animal studies. Signs and symptoms of overexposure: Vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia due to the ingredients.


Pesticide product label instructions and precautions related to Public Safety. Note: as required by law, we are advising you of the following statement:  (Orthene PCO Pellets): Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing dust, sprays or vapors. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove and launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not allow children or pets to come into contact with treated surfaces until sprays have dried.  (ExiteR) Harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Causes eye irritation. Avoid breathing spray mist. Avoid contact with eyes. Wear protective clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash clothing before reuse. (Cy-Kick) KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS. HARMFUL IF ABSORBED THROUGH SKIN. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. (Pyrocide 300) OSHA-COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID. DO NOT use or store near heat, sparks, open flame, or any other ignition sources. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Contains petroleum distillates - Vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes and socks. Wear chemically-impervious gloves such as Barrier Laminate, Neoprene Rubber, Nitrile Rubber, or Viton. (Tempo Ultra SC) If on skin, take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15 to 20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. If inhaled, Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, and then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth- to-mouth if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice. If in eyes, Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. If swallowed, Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything to an unconscious person.(PI Contact) CAUTION: EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS. HARMFUL IF ABSORBED THROUGH SKIN. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Aerosol container contains flammable gas under pressure. 


The Office of Pesticide Programs of the United States Environmental Protection Agency has stated: 

“Where possible, persons who potentially are sensitive, such as pregnant women, infants, and children, should avoid any unnecessary pesticide exposure.”


REMEMBER: Whenever a non-low impact pesticide is used on school property there is also a Restricted Entry Interval (REI) that begins when the pesticide application ends.  This Restricted Entry Interval last for seven hours unless the product label uses NUMERIC LANGUAGE, e.g., 4hours or 12 hours; directing a longer or shorter period of time.  If the product label does not discuss Restricted Entry the period of time defaults to seven (7) hours.
